Inspired by the Earth's companion Moon, which was formed billions of years ago due to a huge planetary impact.
The Moon’s surface was once geologically active and covered in an ocean of magma. To represent its crater-covered surface and its early volcanic activity, we have chosen lava stones that have a natural appearance extremely similar to our Moon.
From the Earth’s surface, we can observe eight distinct traditionally recognized stages of the moon’s illumination, called lunar phases. They have been observed thousands of years and even provided the basis for the earliest calendars. In this subtle way, it reminds us that all things on Earth have a natural cycle. Because the moon continually passes through cycles of growth and decline, the phases of the moon are seen as symbols to guide our own personal growth and development.
